I realized last yearthat I have been teaching for fifteen years now.
I knew that it had been a long time but that was the first time I had counted in a certainly long time.
I have been at the same university for the entire fifteen years & I certainly do prefer all of the people that I get to work with everyday. I feel blessed because not multiple people get to say that, however, in the past month things at the university have certainly taken a turn for the worse… Our entire Heating, Ventilation & A/C system stopped working in the university so all of the classrooms have been so hot. It is the middle of the summer time & it is miserable. The university doesn’t have the money to substitute the entire Heating, Ventilation & A/C system all at once so they gave all the educator a air conditioner window machine for their classrooms. However these air conditioner window units don’t do too much when the outside temperature is over one hundred degrees. I have been perspiring through my clothes everyday & I have even spoke to the principal about getting the Heating, Ventilation & A/C system fixed. Many parents have complained about the lack of a Heating, Ventilation & A/C system in the middle of the summer time months, however I just don’t think the money is there to substitute the Heating, Ventilation & A/C system. I hope that they can figure out something, because this is certainly getting out of hand & I don’t want the parents to keep getting frustrated with me about it.
