As Jim was leaving for work that morning, it was about 35 degrees outside. He had no idea it would get colder later in the day. Jim was in for a surprise. Most days, Jim would take time to have a cup of tea and watch the morning weather report before going to work. This morning he was running late, and Jim didn’t get his tea or weather report. It was 2 AM when he pulled into the bakery, and Jim should have been there at 1 AM. The ovens were on, and it was hot and cozy inside. None of his staff said anything about him being late. Jim is the owner, and they never mentioned being late, unless they were teasing. By 5 AM, Jim and the team had all the shelves full and folks were coming in for their morning tea and pastries. Someone said it was snowing outside, but Jim didn’t notice. The ovens were better than any heating system could hope to be. The only reason Jim had a heating system was because of the customers and to keep the bakery from getting chilly when he was away. Jim had all the inspections done officially and the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company came in and changed his air filters officially. He had an air ventilation system that needed its air filters changed every many weeks. By 3 PM, Jim was out of baked goods and ready to go home. That’s when he realized how wonderful the heating system was inside. It was freezing and snowing so much. He couldn’t wait to get home, turn up the temperature control, and get warm again, before going back to bed at 7PM.
