I live in the Southeast, and almost everyone in my family lives in the Southeast as well.
However, there are only two of us in this state, and my brother lives about a 5 hour drive away from me.
The other day I was talking to him on the phone and he told me he is having a renovation done at his house. The last time I was at his house I was admiring how beautiful it is and how well laid-out it is, so I could not believe he was renovating. I saw absolutely no reason to renovate that house. It turns out it’s not that kind of renovation. He is doing what is called an HVAC renovation. He is pulling out everything to do with his current HVAC system and replacing it with more modern HVAC technology and improved Heating and Cooling methods. His regular old central heating and cooling system will be replaced by a HVAC with Zone control. He will have Heating and Cooling that is individually adjustable based on what zone of the house people are in. For example, he rarely has company, but sometimes we all show up at his house and he has a house full of people. With his HVAC Zone control system, if no one is there except him and his wife, he will be able to turn the thermostat setting for Zone 2 way up so that the air conditioning does not kick in as often. His HVAC consultant tells him that he will likely save 40% on his cooling bill throughout the year. In addition, he will have Smart thermostats that are workable through his cell phone app. He will also have a sea center on his air conditioning vents. At that point I stop listening, but I know that his HVAC system is going to be amazing when it’s done.
