I’ve been working as a heating and cooling specialist for 6 years. So far, the journey has been great and I love my job. I am the type of person who was undecided about my future in high school. My friends all had things mapped out from college to work. But, I felt like I wanted to travel and see the world. One summer, my aunt surprised me with a trip abroad and this was the best experience. It opened me to a whole new world of possibilities. This prompted me to work different part time jobs and save. After graduation, I hit the road and began living a nomadic lifestyle. I’d work menial jobs in the different places I visited for 4 years. Eventually, I felt I had fulfilled that wish and went back home with a plan. I had worked for a HVAC company as an admin assistant and loved the job the cooling and heating specialists did. When I got back home, I enrolled in HVAC school with the aim of getting my HVAC certification. While in school, I worked part time for a heating and cooling business in the city. They were the ones who gave me my first and current job as a heating and cooling specialist. I feel I’ve grown so much in this position working for a great boss. My heating and cooling boss is the type of person who believes happy employees mean happy customers. And her policy works. She runs a thriving heating and cooling business that covers a wide service area. I hope to one day also own such a thriving heating and cooling business. She inspires me so much.
