It is time and I am back for another round of writing.
I’ll write for another 15 minutes or so and then take another break if I’m not done.
I like working in chunks like this, taking breaks in between to let the eyes soften and relax for a while before starting another round of writing. I think a lot of writers work this way, including my poet dad, who told me he would write for no more than two hours at a time and then take an hour or so off before picking up the pencil again. He mostly wrote about heating and air conditioning repairs and maintenance. He focused most of his writing on good indoor air quality and the use of HEPA filters where possible. Dad died suddenly when he was 73 years old, leaving my awful stepmom in shambles and wondering how she would go on without him. She sold the big air-conditioned house that her dad built and had a small one built with a good Heating and Air Conditioning system. She is going to give each of us kids a big sum of money when she dies and set us up for the rest of our lives. I’m not counting on Pop’s savings from his heating and cooling company to get me through, but it would be nice to have a little nest egg when the time comes. I plan to work part-time for another 15 years, so I won’t need the money until I stop working for good in 20 or so years.
