Make sure the HVAC contractor is top-notch

One of the more difficult things I’ve ever done was to take on the construction of a custom home.

I’m just really happy that I put off starting that project until I retired.

I had to leave the office’s commercial HVAC system at the end of the day because there was no way I could have managed all the details of a custom home build while doing that. Speaking of a distorted focus. I wouldn’t have been able to do my job or my new house justice. I’m therefore grateful that I turned off the zone-controlled HVAC system in the office before constructing this house. I’m glad I had the opportunity to actively participate in deciding who would build my house. My wife and I were pleased to work with a general contractor who sought our opinion and allowed us to screen potential subcontractors. We tended to hire his recommended tradespeople, such as plumbers and electricians, in most cases. However, we wanted to select our own HVAC contractor to install the heating and cooling system in our new house. For the two of us, it was extremely important that our new home has the best heating and air. In our previous residence, we had long-term use of somewhat subpar residential HVAC. The heating and cooling of our brand-new, custom-built home were therefore given top priority this time. Additionally, it took us a few months before we discovered the exact HVAC contractor we were looking for. Both the waiting and the work were worthwhile. Heating and cooling were clearly something that this HVAC specialist was passionate about. Our current heating and air quality are of a caliber we could previously only have imagined.
