My daughter was standing by the window with a puzzled look on her face. I asked what was wrong, and she told me it was warm sitting by the window. The sun was shining on her face and kept her warm. She wanted to know why there was ice on the window, and yet it was so warm in her chair. I moved her away from the window, because I could feel a cool breeze coming off it. I looked at the top of the window to see if it was broken, but nothing seemed out of place. I could also feel cool air coming out of the air vent. I was worried about the cool air coming from the air vent, thinking it may be a problem with the furnace. I called my husband, who was visiting his brother next door and told him about the cool air coming from the air vents. He and his brother came over to the house. I sighed, knowing they were either going to repair the furnace and end up with a mess so bad, we would need a new furnace. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to let them go downstairs and do anything, but I couldn’t. I wanted to trust they could get the furnace repaired without too much trouble. When the HvAC company arrived an hour later, I knew they had encountered a problem they couldn’t handle, but I was proud they didn’t continue trying to make the repair. The HVAC technician had the repair done in a matter of minutes. He said we had an airflow problem, and all he needed to do was change the air filter.
