I thought hotels were meant to have heating and A/C.

When traveling cross-country to see our sibling last fall, I ran into several situations that left me scratching our head! I thought every hotel was supposed to offer Heating and Air Conditioning for their guests, although I was wrong! There were 2 hotels that did not offer heating or air conditioning.

  • I thought it had to be a mistake on the travel guide, although I was wrong.

I called the hotels in question and asked about Heating and Air Conditioning. The front desk at the first hotel said their temperature was mild, and they didn’t have any use for Heating and Air Conditioning. The temperatures were seldom high enough to warrant air conditioning, and when Winter time arrived, the weather reMained mild. I would guess they would have Heating and Air Conditioning for those weird afternoons when the temperatures got warm or cold, but they insisted it wasn’t necessary… Needless to say, I didn’t stay at the hotel while the people I was with and I were in our travels. I was within twenty miles of the third hotel, and I made a cellphone call about the Heating and Air Conditioning system! She told me it was a mistake in the brochure. They had heating, but no air conditioning; Even while the people I was with and I were in the summer, they often had cooler afternoons, but they seldom needed air conditioning. I knew I wouldn’t stay at either hotel and wondered why anyone would; With global warming, you never knew what the weather would be like. There were plenty of other hotels that boasted Heating and Air Conditioning and swimming pools. I liked the 1 that provided excellent Heating and Air Conditioning, swimming pools, and free breakfast every day. That is where I spent many afternoons, and broke up the monotony of traveling.
