Choosing a heat pump instead of an air conditioner

When my fiance & I bought our home, the dwelling was already equipped with a boiler & HVAC duct.

In our local area, heating is legitimately a priority, however my fantastic friend and I need to turn up the thermostat & rely on heating from early October until the end of May. My fantastic friend and I experience temperatures down to disadvantage twenty degrees, brutal wind chill & record-cutting snow accumulation, then while the summers tend to be short, my associate and I can expect high heat & humidity, however for a couple of years, my associate and I struggled with window air conditioners in the bedrooms & box fans in the rest of the house. My fantastic friend and I weren’t cheerful with the level of comfort or aesthetics of the portable equipment. My fantastic friend and I decided to invest into centralized cooling. Initially, my associate and I planned to purchase a conventional air conditioner to pair with the heater, and however, once I started researching the weird makes, models & features, I came across electric heat pumps. I learned that this type of system operates identically to a central air conditioner in cooling mode… The device pulls heat out of the house & transfers it outside by way of refrigerant. The benefit of a heat pump is that it can reverse the flow of refrigerant to supply heating. While a heat pump costs more to purchase & install than an air conditioner, it offers lower utility bills! Plus, the heat pump can supplement the heater. When the outside temperature cools off, my associate and I can use the heat pump to keep our house sizzling & minimize our expenses. The heat pump effectively handles comfort until conditions drop below cold, and at that point, the boiler automatically starts up & fulfills demand.
