The older I get the more I find that it pays to be subtle. If you are very direct with human beings it usually backfires on you. The other day I thought I had finally gotten my point across when I purchase them A heating & cooling service contract from my favorite indoor air quality control provider. For the past several years I have had miserable experiences visiting my in-laws because of their terrible indoor air quality. They have the same heating and cooling system that they purchased when they originally got married. This means their heating and cooling system barely works. Every time I’m at their house there are fluctuating hot and cold patches. It gets so hot and stagnant at night that I can’t sleep a wink. Now they have a 2-year service contract with a real HVAC professional. Hopefully he can be more direct with them.
