Last year, we had a wonderful weekend that could have been quite uncomfortable without a portable air conditioner. It was my grandmother’s seventieth birthday and her kids, who were my parents, aunts and uncles, threw her one heck of a party. It lasted the entire weekend. It was a great opportunity for a family reunion.It was in the spring. We live in a tropical area and it is pretty warm in the spring, warm enough to need air conditioning. We have a very large family, and all were invited, so we needed a venue that was big enough to house our family and still reasonably priced. We also needed weekend entertainment and fun in the sun. We couldn’t just sit around and smother my grandmother all weekend. Some family members were coming from out of town, so we decided to rent tent space and cabins at the local campground. This turned out to be an awesome idea. The cabins all had ductless mini-split air conditioners and campers would be comfortable while they slept. On the tent rental space, we put a large party tent with a portable air conditioner in it. This was a wonderful place for the very young and very old, and anybody who wanted to cool off, to just gather and socialize amongst the family, in the cool comfort of air conditioning. It was awesome. There was barbecuing and swimming and canoeing and fishing, or just relaxing and visiting in this cool and comfortable air conditioned tent I don’t know what we would have done without it.
